I just had to add these really great pictures because I'm sure that as children we were ecstatic about getting gifts from a random stranger for no reason whtsoever who was known to sneak into our homes in the middle of the night, and eat all our cookies we slaved away making. But if it ever came to meeting the guy?... FORGET IT!!
And this is my favorite. I think Santa must have been having a rough day too.

I love the photos!!! It makes me feel better that Avery is just one of a million kids who scream bloody murder when they pose for a photo with Santa. Thanks for the tip about blog templates. Maybe when I get brave enough, I'll actually try it out. :-)
I am so anti Santa. Boo Hiss for Santa! We don't do the whole Santa thing in our family. My kids all know who Santa is, no thanks to society. (The kids only watch PBS so they aren't even seeing Santa on TV!) But we've told them hundreds of times that Santa is pretend. There's no talk of any jolly strangers coming down our chimney! I never felt good about lying to my kids about Santa. Besides, having no Santa helps us focus on Christ. And the kids still find the whole Christmas morning thing very exciting even with out the "magic" of Santa.
I don't mind the tradition of Santa per se. But, I don't want to force my kids to sit on Santa's lap. Why do it?? I don't understand this huge draw...We say, "Don't talk to strangers." And, "respect people's space!" And then, we walk up to a stranger and put our kid on their lap and say, "TALK TO HIM!" I remember being scared of Santa for a while (you know, until last year...ahem)
